Where We Started?

Sunshine Benefitz Consulting grew out of something most brokers cannot say: decades of experience working from inside the insurance industry. Barry Williams, did not start his career selling policies. He started in an actuarial department, inside the carrier itself, and went on to work within roughly five different insurance companies before ever representing a client. By the time he stepped into independent consulting, he had spent years watching how group plans were built, how contracts were written, and how costs were managed at the source. With more than 30 years experiance, and that foundation has never changed.

What We Do Differently?

There is a pattern in this industry that costs employers money every year. A broker brings in a competitive rate, the employer signs, and twelve months later the renewal is 30 to 40 percent higher. The broker moves on. The employer absorbs the increase. We built Sunshine Benefitz Consulting to interrupt that cycle.

Because we understand how carriers price and structure coverage, not just how to shop it, we manage your benefits program with a long view. Our goal is to minimize your costs and maximize your coverage year after year, not just in the first renewal. We also bring carrier-side knowledge to contract review, which means we know what the language actually means and where your plan can be strengthened. That is not something most brokers can offer, because most brokers have never been on the inside.
